IMPORTANT ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION DURING HOLY WEEK

Dear Parishioners,

Please read this message in its entirety. Very important information related
to Holy Week.
Starting Monday, April 22, 2024, a contractor for the Town of Barnstable
will commence paving on Route 28 during off-peak, overnight hours.
Construction will occur from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday through
Thursday evenings, weather permitting. This work will include
paving disturbed portions of Route 28 in three sections, from
Phinney’s Lane to West Main Street, from West Main Street to
Captain Ellis Lane, and from Pitcher’s Way to approximately 465
Falmouth Road.
Note: There are three specific sections of work, two of which would impact
the Church. I’ve attached two maps to help visually convey traffic
management for both scenarios.

This work will occur during Holy Week services on April 29 at 6:30pm, April
30 at 6:30pm, May 1 at 6:30pm, and May 2, 6:00pm.  Attached are 2 maps
showing where the work will occur during the weeks of 4/22 and 4/29. ( I've
included the Section 1 map for the week of 4/22 for the awareness of those
who travel and or live in the areas of Rt 28, West Main Street, and Phinney's
Lane).  The Section 2 map is the one to focus on for the week of APRIL 29
since that is Holy Week since that shows how to access the church.  Note:
The GREEN lines indicate the roads that will be open and the RED lines indicate
the roads that will be closed during the evenings.

Sections 1 and Section 2 (which effectively will pave Route 28 from the pump
station at Phinney’s Lane, past CVS to Captain Ellis Lane) both will require folks
accessing the church at night to enter from the back taking Phinney's Lane
Northbound to Strawberry Hill Road or to enter from the front taking
Phinney's Lane Southbound to Wequaquet Lane .

There will be NO work Friday evenings, Saturdays, or Sundays.

I encourage you to share this email with family and friends even if you think
they receive emails from the church. There will be copies of this information
available this Sunday at Church.  You will find them on the table in the
hallway as you enter the community center.  This information will be posted
on the church website as well.

If you have specific questions about this project you can contact Kelly Collopy
who is with the Barnstable DPW. Her contact information is below.

Thank you,

Nikolas J. Atsalis
